Armed Forces

The illness of alcoholism can strike a person of any rank, age or background. Families and friends of problem drinkers are affected by the behaviour of the alcoholic.

In meetings all members are equal and each member is known by first his or her first name only. Since members of the Armed Services are often spread throughout the world, it is helpful to know that there are meetings worldwide.

Al-Anon Public Information co-operates with the Armed forces. Al-Anon volunteers are available on request to speak to staff who would like to better understand the help Al-Anon has to offer. This can be arranged by contacting the Al-Anon General Service Office on 020 7403 0888.
